New friends....

A couple of days ago I was thinking,I have good friends and all but my circle of friends is not as big and as diverse as i would like it to be.All my friends are either the kenyans living here in cambodia(and they are not soooo many)or my workmates!!So i want to make new friends.So am on a mission people...make new friends!!Lets see how that goes.

I have heard horror stories from China, Hong Kong, Thailand etc. Black Africans experience the worst kind of racism in these countries. I have personally experienced racism in so many aspects of my life here in Cambodia and I will talk about it here for two reasons. 1) To spread awareness and 2) It is the issue I get asked most about in emails. 1. Visa on arrival at the Phnom Penh International Airport. Cambodia is one of the easiest countries to enter. Majority of passport holders do not need to have a visa before hand, Kenya (and many other African countrues) included. One just needs to apply for a business or tourist visa on arrival at the airport when they land. Late last year I got to go to Malaysia for a weekend getaway with two of my girlfriends and we had so much fun.  My girlfriends I absolutely love African food and African music and I know there is a big African community in Kuala Lumpur, and where there’s an African community, there is bound to be a couple of African Restaurants. And by African restaurants I really mean Nigerian Restaurants :D See in any African Expat community, Nigerians always make up the majority, so in any given country there’s bound to be a couple of Nigerian Restaurants, bars and clubs where Nigerian expats converge, eat Nigerian food and listen to Nigerian music. Back to the Kingdom of wonder!!!

Bangkok,Thailand was fun!!Really fun, and big and awesome.I fell in love with the place and I will definitely go back. I was amazed at how diverse the people in Bangkok are,like the last time I saw that many Arabs was definitely in Kenya. Arabs are really really cute I remember wanting to steal some super cute Arab babies...just kidding. The taxis were cheap compared to the taxis here in Phnom Penh..I remember being stuck in traffic for over an hour and still paying just a little over 5 dollars...and at night my friends and I would go a pretty good distance and still pay like just over 2 dollars. I was amazed at how nobody was staring at me..at some point I started feeling neglected actually...mmmmh that is disturbing!But I don't blame them,they have seen it all probably so a random black girl walking down the street...who cares!And I found it so weird that in Bangkok,they don't drive big SUVs...Cambodia is way poorer and more remote than Thailand..like we cant even compare...
